Andrew Mackenzie is a Scottish artist, living and working in the Scottish Borders. He was born in Banff, North East Scotland, and graduated with an MFA from Edinburgh College of Art in 1993.
His work has been exhibited extensively. His most recent solo exhibition was "Still Surfacing" with Sarah Myerscough Fine Art in London, in July 2010. In 2006 his solo exhibition "Delicate Ground" at Amber Roome Contemporary Art in Edinburgh (part of the Edinburgh International Festival) recieved a great deal of critical acclaim, as well as selling out.
He has also exhibited with (among others) The Contemporary Art Society, London, The Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, The Collective Gallery, Edinburgh, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Leeds, The Changing Room, Stirling, The National Galleries of Scotland, and The Paul Khun Gallery in Calgary, Canada.
Collections include The Fleming Collection, London, The Royal Academy, London, The City Art Centre, Edinburgh, The Bank of America, and Balinglen Art Foundation, Ireland.
Forthcoming shows include a solo show at Sarah Myerscough Fine art, London in July 2010.
This year he was awarded a research and development grant by the Scottish Arts Council.
